Public Company 1993-2003
In 1993, Mullen went public, raising $9.3 million.
In 1994, Mullen's Truckload Division had a customer base of over
2,000. The company acquired the Premay Group of companies and installed
satellite communications in Oilfield Division trucks. Mullen completed
a series of acquisitions during the decade, including Grimshaw Trucking,
Art Primeau Trucking Services & Rentals, Cascade Carriers Group
of Companies, Spendiff Transport, McGinnis Rat Hole Drilling, Mill
Creek Inc.
In 2000, Mullen issued its first semi-annual
dividend payment to shareholders. A series of initiatives between
2000 and 2002 moved Mullen to the forefront of logistics-driven
transportation services across Canada and into the Far North. In
combination with Inuvialuit Development Corporation and Northern
Transportation Company, Mullen began providing a total transportation
solution to the natural resources industry in the Far North. Mullen
acquired E-Can Oilfield Services in 2000 and a 40 percent interest
in the largest base camp facility in the Mackenzie Delta region
of the Northwest Territories. Record revenues and strong profits
in 2001 positioned the company to acquire seven additional companies
in 2002. These included Dominion Rathole Drilling Ltd., OK Rathole
Drilling Ltd., Anderson Air Drilling Ltd., Lloydminster Heavy Crude
Services Ltd., Temor Oil Services (1974) Ltd., RC Campbell Oilfield
Services Ltd. and Kam's Oilfield Hauling.
