One of our guiding principles at Mullen
is:
“We endorse a disciplined approach to
safety performance. The health and safety of our employees shall
not be compromised.”
Safety is one of the core Values in
our organization.
Our corporate objective of providing a Quality
Work Environment for our people means creating a safe work environment, one where
employees have the right training to ensure that they work in a
safe, efficient manner.
All employees and contractors within the Mullen Group
are expected to promote and participate in our safety initiatives,
while complying with all legal safety codes, rules and regulations.
In addition, we are committed to protecting the environment and
maintaining public health and safety through our operations as
stated in our Environmental
Code of Practice.
It is our duty to send each employee home to their family, whole
and healthy, and at the same time ensure their Job Security. We
believe that the only way to avoid accidents and create a safe,
Quality Work Environment is through prevention.
Mullen Group is an active participant
in the Partnerships
in Health & Safety Program with the Government of Alberta.
We encourage each of our business units to maintain a Certificate
of Recognition (COR) in Health and Safety awarded through the
Partnerships Program, which requires a rigorous annual audit
process.
In addition, Mullen conducts an annual Grand Prize
Safety Award (GPSA) competition, a program that was implemented
in 1997. This
annual assessment process examines the health and safety systems
at each operating unit and measures them against our corporate
guidelines and established benchmarks. The GPSA recognizes best
in class performance
while also fostering the process of continuous improvement with
all of our partnerships. |
